There's a discussion about a day night test when the West Indies tour here in October. Is that in the pipeline?

We are exploring the possibilities. There is a strong reason why we should have day night test. If you look at it from a global perspective, then there are other Nation who have gone ahead and pay day night test with some excellent result they drew a large attendance. The ICC believe has come up with a statement that all of us need to sit together to work out a system to save test cricket. One of the suggestions was to have day night test.

Rajkot or Hyderabad could host India's first day night test:-

The BCCI has asked the "community of administrators" CoA to take the final call on India playing there inaugural day night test in the to match series at home against West Indies next season. Rajkot and Hyderabad will host the to test which will be played this October.
That is so far the only test series India are scheduled to play during 2018-19 home season before the default for the 4 test series against Australia at the end of the year. Before that India will play a one off test Afghanistan from June 14 -18 in Bengaluru.

India's international home season is scheduled to comments with the Asia Cup which is likely to be done on September 18 subject to the Indian government giving permission to allow Pakistan to play.
Along with the to test West Indies will also play 5 ODI and T20 in October November. The BCCI tour programs and fixtures committee meet on Saturday to finalize the venue for the next season and picked Mumbai, Pune, Thiruvananathpuram, Indore and Guwahati as the five cities for the ODI series.

Recently, Choduary was pulled up by the CoA chairman Vinod Rai for showing a "Cavalier Attitude" in taking policy decision. Rai said the issue of day night Test would be placed on hold untill further deliberation took place.

Choudhary had tried to douse Rai's criticism by stating that he was merely trying to find "remedies" to arrest the 'diminishing' interest in Test Cricket. Also, since India are thw only big test playing nation have not played test cricket under lights, Choudhary said he had consulted the likes of India's coach Ravi Shastri, who was open to the open to the idea of being tried on an 'experimental' basis against West Indies.
