Six of eight team captains do not attend opening ceremony due yo logistics issue

However the goof up happened because senior IPL officials did not do their homework on the logistical aspect of 4 other franchise who have match next day.

The BCCI has decided that 6 captains of IPL franchises bearing Mumbai Indians in Chennai Super King mom need to attend the opening ceremony scheduled on 7 April.





It is learnt that all at captains will do a special video shoot on 6 April and leave for their respective cities that very evening itself.

Till last year the convention was to have an opening ceremony a day before the first match which captain would attend and sign the spirit of cricket players.

Seamer R Vinay Kumar threw his weight behind in form wicketkeeper - batsman Dinesh Karthik, who a suprise captain choice to lead the two time champions Kolkata Knight Riders at the upcoming IPL.





KKR who choose not to retain their two time IPL winning skkiper Gautam Ghambhir have handed the baton to Karthik who has big shoes to fill and will have veteran Robin Uthappa as his deputy.

McClenaghan replaces injured Behrendorff in Mumbai Indians squad

Mumbai Indians have paid New Zealand fast bowler Mitchell McClenaghan once again their squad as like for like replacement for the injured Jason Behrendorff.
